About · Founder
After an international career spanning more than 15 years in banking and financial risk management across Europe and Asia, Giuseppe Fresta founded My City Science to bring together his professional experience and lifelong dedication to field-based science.
He has taken part in scientific training, fieldwork, and research projects in more than ten countries. His multidisciplinary academic background encompasses earth sciences, archaeology, and palaeontology.
His vision is to turn places into living laboratories and make science a shared experience—empowering people to become curious thinkers, lifelong explorers, and active contributors to a more sustainable future.

Our Arctic base
Founded in 1906 as a coal-mining settlement, Longyearbyen is now an Arctic research, tourism and logistics hub — home to roughly 2,500 residents from more than 50 nationalities, and one of the few places on Earth where a modern town sits in the heart of the High Arctic.
